Senator Wiener has introduced SB 964, the Behavioral Health Workforce Revitalization Act, which would – among other things – create a state fund to increase pay and provide bonuses for licensed professionals already working in the field, as well as require the Board of Behavioral Sciences, on or before January 1, 2024, to conduct an analysis and provide recommendations to the Legislature regarding specified topics relating to behavioral health professionals, including the scope of practice laws for behavioral health workers, license requirements and clinical training requirements for behavioral health professionals, and requirements for renewing the license of a behavioral health professional who has an expired license.
