Government Affairs Committee 

The CSAP Government Affairs Committee (GAC) and Board met last night. The GAC recommended, and the Board concurred on the following actions: 

-CSAP will join the CMA and others to file an amicus to uphold the longstanding prohibition against non-physicians’ use of the term ‘doctor.’ Read more on this here.  

-CSAP will send a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Becerra on requirements related to the federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. You may view a model letter here. 

Behavioral Health Modernization 

In anticipation of the Governor signing SB 326 (Eggman) and AB 531 (Irwin), the California Health and Human Services Agency hosted a webinar: SB 326 and AB 531 – California’s Behavioral Health System Reform Package. You may view SYASL staff notes here.
