This week, the Senate Select Committee on Mental Health and Addiction held an informational hearing on timely access to mental health care and compliance with SB 221. In this hearing, Emily Wood – the Chairwoman of CSAP’s Government Affairs Committee – testified. Dr. Wood described for committee members what CSAP has been hearing from members about challenges posed by health plans and the struggles faced by doctors and patients even before SB 221 became law on July 1.
